3D Project
So for my individual project I decided to make a phone holder. Since I love to play baseball I tried to do a baseball looking phone holder. My intentions were that I would have two baseball bats crossed in the back, which would ultimately be the back of the phone holder. I also wasted to make the baseball holder as large as possible and our limits were a 5X5X5 piece so I decided to make the phone holder 5' wide by 4.08' high. My intentions for what I thought it would look like would soon change. This is what my notebook looked like for my first inceptions.
My sketches would later change due to the fact that I couldn't figure out how to draw baseball bats crossing on inventor so this were my next drawings.
After figuring it out what to do, I started to draw the sketch onto illustrator so this is what it looked like.
I then had to export it to the maker bot software where I had to configure it to make it be able to print.
The actual printing process.
Final Product!
What I learned
There is a lot to be taken out when using the 3D printers. One thing that I learned how to do that I didn't know before was to fill up a roll of filament and to then fill the laser with the filament. I had to learn this because I wanted this product to be white due to a baseball being white. Another thing that I learned was that projects warp on places that you wouldn't think would warp. For example my project on the corner warped and there is not much that I can do about it. The product still works and that is what matters.
